In order to relocate the treadmill, you would want to dismantle it first. But you must consider where you want to move it and whether or not it will fit well in the new space before you disassemble your treadmill.

Taking a Lifespan treadmill apart will save you so much time and energy and make it much easier to handle the awkward shape of the machine.

Here is your step by step guide on how to take Lifespan treadmill apart:

STEP 1: Disconnect the power source

Before you start the dismantling process, set the treadmill incline to the lowest level possible and unplug the tread from the wall outlet to power off the treadmill.

This process is important because it helps to protect you from possible electrocution.

STEP 2: Remove the console

First you need to unscrew and remove the cover from the back of the console.

There is a bunch of Phillip’s head screws holding the console to the handlebar bracket. Unscrew them and the console should come off.

Gently pull apart and disconnect the console cables .Then lift the console off and wrap it with a babble wrap.

STEP 3: Remove the handlebars

Using a screwdriver, remove the screws from the inside of both the right and left joint covers and take them off.

Next, have someone support the handlebars as you unscrew and remove the screws on either side of the handles and place them in a plastic bag.  Gently raise the handlebar arms up.

STEP 4: Remove the uprights

The next step is to remove the upright arms. Using a screwdriver, remove the screws from the inside of both the right and left lower plastic covers at the base of the arms.

Next, remove the bolts that hold the uprights and place them in a plastic bag. Gently separate the treadmill uprights from the base and wrap them in a bubble plastic wrap and tape it to keep them secure.

It’s helpful to have a second person holding the uprights as you unscrew the bolts. This way, the handlebar arms and frame will not fall.

Once you’ve disassembled any removable parts from your treadmill, you are now left with the main frame base of your treadmill as one large item.

Make sure that you have collected all of the nuts and bolts and put them in a clear plastic bag so you can easily reattach once moved.

If you want to move the machine, you can also loosen the screws and lower the entire arms down towards the base. Strap the base and arms all together. Then tip the machine on it’s side and carry it wherever you would love to go.
