The first step to turn on a Cadence G 5.9 tread is to,

1. Plug in the power cord

Before committing this step it’s worth mentioning that this product must be grounded.

If it should malfunction or break down, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current, reducing the risk of electric shock.

Your Weslo Cadence G 5.9 treadmill, like other electronic equipment, can be damaged by sudden voltage changes in your home power.

To decrease the risk of damaging your treadmill, always use a surge suppressor with your treadmill.

This surge suppressor must have a UL suppressed voltage rating of 400 volts or less and a minimum surge dissipation of 450 joules.

Plug the power cord into a surge suppressor, and plug the surge suppressor into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded accordingly.

2. Turn on the power button

The next step is to turn on your treadmill by pressing the power switch located on treadmill frame near the power cord. Make sure that the switch is in the reset position.

When the power is turned on, all the lights on the display will light for a short time. Then the Time and Distance windows will display Odometer readings for a short time.

3. Attach the safety key into place

Before you can start using your tread, locate the clip attached to the safety key and and slide the clip securely onto the waistband of your clothes.

Next, make sure it is fully inserted into the safety key port as it is necessary to turn on the tread.

The key usually has a clip that allows you to attach the key to your activewear during the workout for safety purposes.

If the safety key is detached, the treadmill will stop immediately.

4. Start walking/running

You adjust the tread to the desired speed using the Increase/Decrease buttons.

Each time you press one of those buttons, the speed setting will change by 0.1 mph. But if you hold down the button, the speed setting will change in increments of 0.5 mph.
